The Investment Banking Analyst role

Moelis summer analysts join as generalists, working on financial analysis and modeling, company and industry research, and client presentations alongside senior bankers. A one-week training program on modeling and valuation opens the 10-week internship, and the full-time class is drawn largely from it. Moelis also posts specialist analyst seats and requires the Suited assessment from every applicant.

The summer program is generalist, with exposure to deal activity across industries, and runs 10 weeks starting with a one-week training program on financial modeling and valuation; specialist summer seats (Private Capital Advisory, Capital Structure Advisory) are posted separately, and class size is not published.

Worth knowing: Moelis is one of only two banks on this list (with Evercore) whose 2028 summer analyst window is already open — Houston is live, closes December 14, 2026, and asks for December 2028–July 2029 graduates — and it asked bankers back to the office five days a week.
