The Investment Banking Analyst role

Jefferies analysts build financial models and valuations, prepare pitchbooks and offering materials, and support M&A and financings alongside senior bankers. Unlike generalist programs, applicants apply to a specific group and city, so your group is fixed at application. The summer program starts with orientation and training and feeds the full-time analyst class.

Group-specific placement — each analyst req is posted per group and city (FIG, Private Fund Advisory, Municipals, Latin America Coverage); roughly 150–180 IB summer analysts globally by third-party estimate, with a 10-week summer of orientation, training, mentorship and formal reviews.

Worth knowing: Jefferies posts the same $110,000 base on its full-time analyst and summer analyst reqs, every req is group-specific, and candidates get one application per recruiting cycle — pick the group before you apply.
