The Investment Banking Analyst role

Citi’s IB analysts support M&A, capital raising and strategic financings for corporate, financial-sponsor and public-sector clients, collecting company and industry research, building valuation and financial models (DCF and comps), and preparing pitch materials. Summer analysts start with a short training block and are then matched to a team, and top performers are steered toward full-time offers.

Class size is not published; NYC summer analysts go through a placement process matching them to an IB team, while some reqs are group-specific (FIG, Capital Markets, SF Technology and Healthcare, Boston Technology); summer training is 1.5 weeks and the full-time program is two years with six weeks of training.

Worth knowing: Citi’s 2027 US IB summer analyst reqs went live on December 17–18, 2025 and carried anticipated close dates only days later — the shortest posted windows on this list — with a stated $110,000 annual salary inside a $100k–$135k posted range.
