The Financial Analyst (Corporate Finance / Restructuring) role

Houlihan Lokey financial analysts prepare and analyze financial information, run valuations, and build marketing materials for M&A, capital raising and restructuring engagements. Hiring is by segment and office, so applicants choose Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring or valuation advisory up front. The restructuring franchise and high deal count give analysts early live-deal exposure, though the analyst class is smaller than at the bulge brackets.

Roughly 30–50 US summer analysts a year by third-party estimate (HL does not publish it); placement is by segment (Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring, Financial and Valuation Advisory) and office rather than a generalist pool, with a 10-week summer and training for returning analysts.

Worth knowing: HL’s own ‘By the Numbers’ page cites LSEG for its No. 1 global restructuring advisor ranking (1,700+ restructuring transactions totaling over $3.5 trillion) and No. 1 in 2023 global M&A advisory by deal count (352 transactions).
