The Software Engineer, New College Grad role

Software new grads join a specific team — for example the chip-design infrastructure team building CI/CD, build, regression and release tooling for NVIDIA’s chip designers, or AI and cloud systems software. The one structured program found is the Applied Systems Engineering Rotation: four 3-month rotations (architecture, bring-up, production) over 12 months. Most NCG reqs are hardware, so software seats are scarce and windows are short.

No published cohort size: new college grads are hired req by req (43 live US NCG reqs found, 5 software-titled), and NVIDIA calls internships its primary pipeline for new college grads.

Worth knowing: NVIDIA’s FY2026 10-K says over 40% of new hires came from employee referrals, and its careers site calls internships the primary pipeline for new college grads — the open-application route is narrow.
