Amazon New Grad Software Engineer jobs
Still hiring 11,000+ interns and early-career SDEs a year, layoffs or not.
The Software Development Engineer I, Early Career role
New grads join as SDE I, owning the full lifecycle of their code from design through deployment and on-call, with GenAI dev tools part of the stated job. Placement depends on the req: team-specific reqs (Annapurna compilers and runtimes, Robotics, ADC, Leo) fix the org up front, while the flagship req lets you flag skill areas such as ML, distributed systems and databases and places you by business need.
Amazon said it is on track for over 11,000 interns and early-career full-time SDEs to join globally in 2026, in line with prior years; hiring is decentralized across an evergreen flagship req plus team-specific Early Career reqs (Annapurna, Robotics, ADC, Leo, Audible).
