“I just found like nervousness dropped my IQ like 20 points, so I ended up doing a lot of mocks with GPT. Then I started seeing way more causal inference in interviews, like the field can go back to the science part.”

“One thing that stood out was the SQL round. They gave me this AI-generated, very modular code and asked me to read the logic like a human, then basically debug what the machine was doing wrong.”

“The SQL interviewer literally stopped me mid-explanation and said, “We’re not interested in your explanation. My job is just to make sure you get the right answer,” which honestly made the whole DoorDash process feel a lot like Meta.”

“Was referred so probably skipped some steps. The recruiter and first round was very friendly, but the person who debriefed my take home was not. Ultimately was rejected because they said they wanted someone more experienced but the process felt very dragged on.”
“Mostly feature engineering, with some core Python (functions and classes) mixed in. The platform has a built-in AI assistant you can query for syntax, so you don't need to memorize every method. You can execute your code to check it, but no test cases are given. So you never get a pass/fail signal. You have to decide how much time to spend validating your own output versus moving on to the next problem. Sanity-check the shape, nulls, and dtypes of what you build, and write your own quick asserts.”

“The interview questions were quite unclear and I had to figure out what she is asking for. Also, she was asking really deep mechanical questions about the estimator I am using and my selection about the sample size. ”

“The technical round is the hardest to crack.”

“Overall, it was a good interview process. The case studies really tested your ability to create a framework on the stop and ask the right discovery questions. ”
“It was nice quite technical and related to adtech. They asked abt ci/cd hub. Model deployment and slopes”

“The weirdest Anthropic round was the company values interview. It was almost like a therapy session, and honestly if you went to a therapist at some point, you will pass that round much more easily.”

“What was very unusual is they didn’t give me any tooling to draw the system design, so I just sketched it on a piece of paper and talked them through it, then we got into this oddly deep debate about whether hover-over history should count as a recommendation signal.”
