PayPalSenior Product Manager (CL6) · L5“It was a senior PM loop and there were zero case studies, zero technical questions, and literally no engineering counterpart. All three interviews were just behavioral with product people.”
PayPalSoftware Engineer · L4“The overall interview process was smooth and well structured. It started with the online assessment, followed by technical interview rounds focused mainly on DSA and problem-solving. The interviewers also asked follow-up questions to understand how I approached the problem and how I would optimize the solution. What went well was that I was able to explain my thought process, discuss different approaches, and arrive at optimized solutions for most of the problems. The interviewers were also helpful and gave enough space to think through the problems. What didn’t go as well was that I could have managed my time better during the follow-up questions. I spent a little too much time explaining the initial approach, which left less time for some of the follow-ups. Overall, it was a good learning experience and gave me a clear idea of the areas I need to improve.”
PayPalProduct Manager · L5“The process was fairly easy and not very structured, with a mix of some product sense and behavioral interviews scattered throughout.”
PayPalTechnical Program Manager · L8+“it went well, too many questions on each round, HR follow ups is slow and can spread across few weeks with total silence so it can take several months but interviews are not hard”
PayPalData Scientist“The process went well, and the interviews did not seem to be very difficult. The process began with a tech screen on MS Teams (video call with the recruiter). Tech Screen was a 45 minute interview that included SQL and Python questions. AB Testing and Stats interview involved requiring knowledge about 2-sided marketplaces. For Stats, basics were also questions - what is alpha? what are type 1 and type 2 errors? Last round was conducted by the HM, mostly related to behavioral questions. ”

AnthropicSoftware Engineer, Safeguards · L5“The weirdest Anthropic round was the company values interview. It was almost like a therapy session, and honestly if you went to a therapist at some point, you will pass that round much more easily.”
NetflixEngineering Manager, Tooling“What was very unusual is they didn’t give me any tooling to draw the system design, so I just sketched it on a piece of paper and talked them through it, then we got into this oddly deep debate about whether hover-over history should count as a recommendation signal.”
