DatadogProduct Manager · L5“The interview process is well structured and organized. The interview guild was helpful. In the system design part, I think I should've considered scale as a constraint. I also could have spoke more explicitly about the trade off. I felt that my answer did not stood out because of above. I suspect that answered generically, should have dig deep into detailed design trade off more. ”
DatadogProduct Manager · L4“The process was more rigorous than anything I’d done at other big tech companies, but the recruiter was actually accurate and helpful about what to prepare, which is rare and something I really appreciated. The interviewers were thoughtful and the questions generally felt relevant to the role. A few things caught me off guard: one round had a format I wasn’t expecting, and in a couple of places the level of depth went beyond what I thought the prep materials suggested. Overall, though, the process felt well organized and I had a clear sense of what was being evaluated.”
DatadogProduct Manager · L5“Overall great and very collaborative. Recruiter gives you a lot of heads up on what is coming down on each interview. ”
DatadogProduct Manager · L6“The process was more slow than expected. The recruiter was very attentive and helpful. Interviewers were happy to share about culture and open up about the less "shiny" aspects.”
DatadogSoftware Engineer · Intern“It started well, but at some point I was rushing through, so I had to take sometime and relax. I needed to clearly articulate my thoughts process well. Definitely use the STAR method in your preparation, it really worked for me”
DatadogSoftware Engineer · L7“The process was more rigorous than expected. It was not just about application - but about WHY for a particular approach”
DatadogProduct Manager · L5“Overall, my interview experience was excellent. The recruiter promptly provided all the necessary details, clearly explained each stage of the interview loop, and outlined how the rating and hiring-decision processes work. The entire process was well-structured and transparent. I understood that I received three “Strong Hire” ratings and one “No Hire,” with the single negative rating determining the final outcome. This was difficult to understand because I felt that particular interview was one of my strongest. Also, there seemed to be a disconnect between the interviews and the rejection feedback. The interviews focused primarily on general skills, and I was not asked many detailed questions about the relevant domains. Nevertheless, the feedback cited a lack of domain expertise as a key concern. It would have been helpful if the interviews had explored domain knowledge more thoroughly, giving me a fair opportunity to demonstrate my experience in those areas. ”

AnthropicSoftware Engineer, Safeguards · L5“The weirdest Anthropic round was the company values interview. It was almost like a therapy session, and honestly if you went to a therapist at some point, you will pass that round much more easily.”
NetflixEngineering Manager, Tooling“What was very unusual is they didn’t give me any tooling to draw the system design, so I just sketched it on a piece of paper and talked them through it, then we got into this oddly deep debate about whether hover-over history should count as a recommendation signal.”
