“What surprised me is how open ended the questions are, but each interviewer is very likely probing a specific Amazon leadership principle, so generic answers actually hurt you because you need to tease out what they’re really testing.”

“It was very Amazon style with leadership principles, but layered on top of that they kept asking how I’ve used AI to bring about innovation and change, and then they really challenged the metrics behind my stories.”

“Trust me, Amazon’s interview process has a different bar altogether, and for internal roles I’d stick with the AIQB because the interviewers are trained on that. You can even steer the interview by putting a hook in your answer so everything stays under your control.”

“Overall, the interview process was well structured and gave me the opportunity to discuss a broad range of experiences across product strategy, customer problems, technical decision-making, and cross-functional leadership. I especially appreciated the follow-up questions, which made the conversations feel thoughtful and allowed me to go deeper into my reasoning and trade-offs. The interviewers were engaging and created a comfortable environment for discussion. The main area that could have been better was having slightly more visibility into the focus of each interview beforehand, which would have helped me better understand how the different conversations fit together. Overall, though, I had a positive experience and enjoyed learning more about the team and role through the process”

“The process was significantly more rigorous than what I’ve experienced at other big tech companies. While most companies focus primarily on technical execution, Amazon's intense focus on evaluating every response against specific Leadership Principles adds a layer of complexity that requires deep preparation. That said, the recruiter was incredibly accurate, transparent, and helpful regarding what to expect, which is rare in this industry and highly appreciated."”

“The recruiter organized the flow well. My first round was 1 hour interview. When I qualified that round I was scheduled for the final round with 5 interview rounds scheduled on the same day. There was no delay from the recruiting team on informing the status and next steps through out the process. ”

“It was good experience overall Went well Recruiter really put efforts in prepping me for HM Didn’t go well HM round was not clear enough There were no direct LP questions asked so they gave another Screening round”

“The overall process looks structured as of now. My answers were structured but I think I should have asked for more time to think for the clarifying questions and to ideate the solutions. ”

“There were a lot of probing questions that followed after each question. One good thing was that the hiring manager was pasting each question she asked on the chat, so that I could follow through.”

“The weirdest Anthropic round was the company values interview. It was almost like a therapy session, and honestly if you went to a therapist at some point, you will pass that round much more easily.”

“What was very unusual is they didn’t give me any tooling to draw the system design, so I just sketched it on a piece of paper and talked them through it, then we got into this oddly deep debate about whether hover-over history should count as a recommendation signal.”
