Product Manager Interview Experience
Interview process
The interview was structured around product sense and feature-design questions, with a strong emphasis on identifying the user problem, prioritizing a target audience, designing a solution, and thinking through metrics and tradeoffs. The conversation felt fairly interactive, and I had opportunities to explain my reasoning rather than just give a final answer. What went well was being able to structure ambiguous problems and connect solutions back to user needs. The harder part was balancing depth with time, especially when there were several possible directions worth exploring.

Interview tips
I would recommend practising open-ended product-design questions and getting comfortable quickly defining the target user, their main pain point, and a clear V1 solution. Be prepared to explain why you prioritized one user or solution over another, and always have a success metric, guardrail metric, and key tradeoff ready. It is also helpful to understand IBM's ecosystem, including discovery, creators, social features, safety, and monetization, so your answers feel grounded in how the platform actually works.
Company culture
The people I spoke with came across as collaborative, professional, and genuinely interested in understanding how candidates think. The conversations felt respectful and two-sided, and I appreciated having the opportunity to learn more about the team and ask questions rather than having the interview feel purely evaluative.
