Interview tips
I would recommend building a strong foundation in SRE fundamentals, including Linux, networking, operating systems, troubleshooting, and scripting. Be comfortable with Kubernetes, containers, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and incident management. Practice troubleshooting real-world scenarios and explaining your thought process clearly. For coding, review the programming fundamentals relevant to the role and practice solving problems while discussing your approach and trade-offs.
Company culture
The team seemed collaborative and focused on solving problems. There was an emphasis on technical expertise, ownership, and reliability, which are important in an SRE role. The culture also appeared to value learning, knowledge sharing, and working together to improve systems and processes.
