## Interview experiences

Seven shared experiences are listed:

- [Meta · 4 months ago](https://www.aced.io/experiences/meta-facebook-senior-machine-learning-engineer-interview-9efbbd) — Senior / L5 Machine Learning Engineer. The process included a recruiter screen, a 45-minute senior-manager pre-screen, and a five-interview loop: two coding rounds, two design rounds, and one behavioral round. The coding rounds included classic LeetCode-style work and AI coding involving data processing and mathematical prompts such as sparse matrix–vector multiplication and k-nearest-neighbor search. Design covered ML modeling for computer vision and a system-design problem similar to Google Street View. The candidate passed and moved to offer negotiation.
- [Asana · 5 months ago](https://www.aced.io/experiences/asana-staff-program-manager-interview-d02a92) — Staff / L6 Program Manager. The candidate observed difficulty managing stakeholders and timelines; the questions were standard.
- [Scale AI · 5 months ago](https://www.aced.io/experiences/scale-ai-senior-product-manager-interview-276f89) — Senior / L5 Product Manager. The process included recruiter and hiring-manager screens, a take-home case, a four-round virtual onsite, and a final senior-product-leader conversation. The candidate did not receive an offer and attributed the gap to answer length and audience awareness rather than technical depth.
- [U.S. Bank · 8 months ago](https://www.aced.io/experiences/usbank-finance-and-strategy-interview-118979) — Finance and Strategy. The phone interview clearly explained what to expect at the onsite.
- [Meta · a year ago](https://www.aced.io/experiences/meta-facebook-product-manager-interview-f7ed94) — Product Manager. The process had two 45-minute phone screens and three onsite rounds covering product sense, product execution, and leadership. The candidate rated difficulty about 5/10 and said preparation from common-question lists reduced surprises.
- [Walmart Labs · 3 years ago](https://www.aced.io/experiences/walmart-labs-senior-product-manager-interview-6fbec3) — Senior / L5 Product Manager. The process was comparatively easy but time-consuming; the candidate advised staying calm.
- [Amazon · 3 years ago](https://www.aced.io/experiences/amazon-senior-program-manager-interview-bc0f39) — Senior / L5 Program Manager. The AWS process included a recruiter screen, hiring-manager phone interview, and a virtual loop of 4–5 back-to-back interviews of about 45 minutes each. It was mostly behavioral and based on Amazon Leadership Principles, with role-specific questions about data-center standup, hardware deployment, and vendor coordination.

### Dhruv M. — June 16, 2025

During an internship at InfoLynx Analytics, Dhruv received a last-minute request to build a performance dashboard for an executive review in **three days**. He clarified stakeholder needs, prioritized critical metrics, used SQL to extract data, Excel for initial cleanup, and Power BI to build the dashboard. He reused components from an earlier project, validated the results with a colleague, and provided a walkthrough. The dashboard was completed on time, received positive leadership feedback, and was later adopted as a monthly-reporting template.

### Scott S. — July 15, 2024

Scott describes leading an analytics platform launch for traders before a major market event. The platform required multiple data-source integrations, complex algorithms, and low-latency processing. Delayed stakeholder approvals reduced development and testing time.

As Engineering Manager, Scott:

- Scoped the release down to core functionality and deferred less-critical features.
- Communicated the tradeoffs and future-delivery plan to stakeholders.
- Used pre-built components and open-source tools.
- Organized parallel workstreams.
- Held daily stand-ups to track blockers and make quick decisions.
- Prioritized testing of critical components and set up automated continuous-integration testing.

The platform launched in time for the market event. Traders used the real-time insights, and the deferred features were released in later months.

### Ushita S. — April 27, 2021

Ushita asks whether the question concerns meeting a tight deadline or managing a project that had one. They suggest creating a critical path from the overall project schedule and ensuring that critical-path deliverables are not sacrificed to meet the deadline.

### Bazza G. — September 11, 2023

Bazza describes producing marketing content for a new Google Pixel phone. Google’s 3D phone model was not high enough resolution for final delivery, and a work-in-progress approval meeting was less than a week away.

Bazza’s response was to:

1. Tell the Google counterpart about the problem and request a proper CG model.
2. Work with the team on an alternate presentation format.
3. Replace the planned full animation with high-quality still images for approval.
4. Coordinate with the Google counterpart, design lead, and technical lead so questions could be answered without delaying the meeting.

The work received approval and launched as scheduled. Bazza’s lessons were to communicate difficult issues quickly with possible solutions and to scope down delivery to maintain quality rather than overcommit and deliver poor-quality material.
