Our guides are created from recent, real, first-hand insights shared by interviewers and candidates. If your experience differs, [tell us here](https://www.aced.io/questions/contribute).

Meta runs a highly standardized PM interview loop. Interviewers draw from a question bank that repeats across cycles. For a prompt such as “design a product for parking,” interviewers expect an end-to-end MVP, named competitors, and a plan for how Meta would build it. Some loops add an AI product-sense round in which you build a working prototype with an AI tool.

## Meta PM interview process

The process includes a recruiter screen, **2 phone screens**, a final loop, and team matching for candidates who pass. Product sense and analytical thinking each appear in the phone screens and again in the final loop.

1. **Recruiter screen:** A 30-minute call covering your background, level fit, and motivation.
2. **Phone screens:** A product-sense interview and an analytical-thinking interview, roughly 45 minutes each and often back-to-back.
3. **Final loop:** Product sense, analytical thinking, and leadership-and-drive interviews.
4. **AI product sense (some loops):** A product-sense case followed by live prototyping with an AI tool.
5. **Team matching:** Conversations with hiring teams after passing the final loop.

### Interview types

| Interview | What it tests | What stands out |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Product sense | Turning a broad prompt into a scoped product for a defined user segment | A detailed MVP, named competitors, and a clear reason Meta should build it |
| Analytical thinking | Setting goals, defining metrics, and reasoning through metric trade-offs | A defensible north star with guardrails specific to it |
| Leadership and drive | Ownership, self-awareness, conflict resolution, and influence | Stories detailed enough to answer several layers of follow-up |
| AI product sense | Product sense plus directing an AI tool to build a prototype | Clear reasoning about prompting choices, latency, and token usage |

Meta's PM loop follows the same structure across most teams through the final loop. Meta's Central Products roles may use a different final loop that replaces traditional product sense with AI product sense and adds a product-architecture interview about building a product with engineering. Use this guide as a preparation baseline and expect your loop to differ.

## Recruiter screen

The recruiter screen lasts 30 minutes and covers your background, level fit, and motivation. The recruiter also confirms your target level and which interviews your loop includes.
