# Lyft Product Manager (PM) Interview Guide

Updated 21 days ago by Lyft candidates.

We provide this Aced (formerly Exponent) guide for people preparing for the Lyft product manager interview. Lyft product managers work with complex, highly technical systems intended to have immediate impact at large scale.

## Guide sections

- [Expert guide](https://www.aced.io/guides/lyft-product-manager-interview)
- [Interview experiences (6)](https://www.aced.io/guides/lyft-product-manager-interview/experiences)
- [Questions (24)](https://www.aced.io/guides/lyft-product-manager-interview/questions)

## Interview Process

Lyft's product manager interview process typically has four stages: recruiter screen, phone screens, on-site interviews, and team matching.

### Recruiter Screen

The recruiter phone screen focuses primarily on your [resume](https://www.aced.io/resume?src=guide) and fit for the product manager role. Expect questions about your interests, past experience, and why you want to work at Lyft. You can also ask the recruiter questions about the interview process.

The recruiter discusses which Lyft role best fits your background and helps you pre-select a role to apply for. Lyft interviews are conducted generically, so you can use an interview result to apply for any role at the company during team matching.

Prepare by reviewing your resume so you can discuss it fluently, and research Lyft, including [its company mission](https://www.lyft.com/careers/life-at-lyft).

### Product and Execution Phone Screens

You have two additional phone screens before the on-site interview:

1. A product-focused interview.
2. An execution-focused interview.

These interviews are similar to the corresponding interviews in the on-site loop. The period between the phone screen and on-site usually takes about two weeks.

### On-site

The on-site Lyft PM interview consists of three rounds:

1. Product Sense
2. Product Execution
3. Leadership and Experience (behavioral)

A final decision usually takes about one week after the on-site interview.

### Team Matching

After passing the on-site interview, you are matched with potential teams and have exploratory calls with managers on those teams. These conversations are less like interviews and more like opportunities for you and the team to learn about one another and determine mutual fit.

## Sample Interview Questions

Lyft's interview types are modeled after [Facebook's PM interview categories](https://www.aced.io/guides/meta-product-manager-interview). The guide identifies three general question types:

- Product sense
- Execution
- Behavioral

The complete sample-question content is member-only.
