## Interview Process

A typical Airtable product engineer interview has four stages: recruiter screen, coding assignment, on-site, and reference check.

### Recruiter Screen

The recruiter phone screen generally covers your resume and fit for the software engineer role. Questions may address your interests, past experience, and reasons for wanting to work at Airtable. The recruiter can also answer questions about the interview process.

We recommend reviewing [your resume](https://www.aced.io/resume?src=guide) so you can speak from it and researching Airtable, including [its company mission](https://airtable.com/about). During this interview, you select an interview loop. Airtable has different loops, including a product engineer loop, with role-specific processes and questions; the overall structure is generally similar apart from the interviewers and questions. Product engineer candidates may also receive product-management interview questions, so we recommend reviewing [our PM interview prep course](https://www.aced.io/courses/pm).

### Coding Assignment

Airtable asks candidates to complete a six-hour coding challenge within one week. The exercise involves building an application, and candidates may choose their coding language and IDE. Airtable compensates candidates for completing this interview stage. The average response time after submission is two weeks.

### On-site

The on-site product engineer interview has four rounds:

1. System design
2. Algorithms
3. Behavioral
4. Interview-loop-specific round—in the product engineer loop, you wireframe a new product feature

We recommend using Airtable substantially before the interview so you understand its details and can engage with company-relevant questions.

### Reference Check

Airtable requests reference checks before finalizing an offer.

## Sample Interview Questions

The page indicates that the on-site interview consists of the four rounds listed above, but the detailed sample questions are locked.
